this is funny as the dog we met was named "jean luc" and another was "captain".

marbury The UKC club I am part of has a fantastic BP breeder. I have spent many hours talking to her about her dogs. I am enamored with them! They have such distinctive movement and are very, very goofy with their handlers but politely aloof to others. Definitely a cool breed. If anybody wants the info for the breeder I know I'd be happy to provide it.

Liesje Go to any large UKC event and you can see them in various sizes and colors. They are a UKC breed. At the annual Premier I often see a dozen or more walking around. They're really the only breed with that coat type that has ever piqued my interest.

lhczth Obviously, like in our own breed, there are probably differences from one dog to the next. We had one come to our PK class (it was right at the age limit). Dog had no desire to work with its people. Very disconnected. Was a total butt head around the other puppies. No food or drive for toys. It was so un-shepherd like that I can understand why they are a rare breed. Not a breed that peaked my interest at all.

Yes. It was the movie "Because of Winn-Dixie".

I've read about them, but never met one.

MaggieRoseLee I have friends with one and it's a great dog. Surprising like our GSD but looks a bit different.
