Yes, we do need more clubs down here. You'd think with 1200 MWD's and a couple hundered handlers here on Lackland we'd have more people into dog sport, but we don't.

Dena is very nice, and took my jokes well. I told her how great I was for acheiving 1.5 CGC titles...lol

benjdow Thanks! and I'll definitely post when we have a trial. We now have 2 USCA affiliated clubs in San Antonio, the other is Alamo Working Dog Club...should make holding a trial easier by leveraging off each other.

Merciel Congrats!

And yep, the jump from training to trialing is an eye-opener. But now that you know, you can be prepared next time.

Got our USCA affiliation!

This past Saturday our club (Renegade WDC in San Antonio) held our affiliation trial. The regional Schutzhund director, Dr. Dena McGowan, came down to evaluate our club. Dena was really nice and with over 30 years of Schutzhund experience...very knowledgeable. Everything went really well. I didn't do that great with the BH, but I did learn what I need to work on and realized there's a big difference between working with your dog on a training field vs a trial field...quite stressful.

At any rate, our club formed a mere 9 months ago, getting to this point wasn't easy...but we did it!
