MaggieRoseLee At 6 - 7 months old I have recall issues crop up with all my pups that were previously perfect! They are maturing and getting more independent. Testing their boundaries and the rules. Being in classes is a great way to work thru this.

You may also want to work with the people you do let inside the house. Once you let them in, that shows they are 'friends' so you can hand over treats to them and have THEM get your dog to 'sit' or 'down' or whatever to earn a reward (and stop the barking !).

Mary Beth For the door, I wouldn't open the door until CJ stops barking. When he first barks, go to the door - stand in front of it with CJ in back of you to show that you are in charge of the door. Have CJ sit - when he keeps barking - say "enough" - put your hand on the top of his nose that may have a quieting effect. Then open the door. For the recall, if it is just in the backyard - then practice with higher value treats and also releasing him. So,it doesn't always mean to come inside and outdoor time is over. If you have classes in your area, you may want to sign up now it is a good time for that with CJ starting his adolescence.

CJ is a wicked laid back puppy, borderline lazy. However he likes to bark at the door (which we love, great security) but lately we can't get him to stop barking when the person comes in. It's not that bad maybe a minute of barking and then he lays back down. We use the command 'enough' but now it's not enough :-)

Also he hasn't been responding to my come. Before he was doing basically 100% recall. I figured it's him going through adolescence but just need any tricks you can offer and I know you have it!!
