Castlemaid Same as Roemly's mom for the glow-in-the-dark ball - mostly so I can see it. I'm out on acreage, in deep snow, using a ball launcher. Amazing sometimes how well he uses his nose to find a ball in the deep snow, but that slows down the game of fetch - with the visible ball, I have a better idea of where I'm launching the ball, and Gryff finds it faster, so we get more action in.

it's probably more for me mostly. He does seem to see the lighted balls much better than nothing. I work full time so we are out around 5:30am or so to get in some quality fetch time. It's also dark by the time I get home these days. Even with my spotlights in the yard its still too dark for me to see the balls (big yard with some woods and stuff). He does search rather well, but if he doesn't see the trajectory a bit he hasn't a clue.

Also practice directionals with him and if I can't see the ball then I have no idea where to tell him to go. When we are fetching I like to get the physical exercise in so having him hunt for the ball for ten minutes isn't what I have in mind.

I didn't know the orange balls were invisible. I would not have guessed that just by his body language. Very interesting.

Balls that light for nightime

Hi all,

since we have shorter days-though getting longer now...I've used some balls that light up to play with the boy. I think they were called Meterolite. I loved them but they would last about a week and I bought 6 at over ten bucks a pop so I'm done with them.

Any suggestions on any balls that are good for nighttime playing? We are out about a half hour or so each time so need something that will stay lit for a bit.

Thanks

Elle
