zzzfarmer The Hospital that did the work on Gunner has 8 Doctors on staff, including specialists for internal medicine, Cardiology, sports medicine and rehab therapy, a dozen or so Techs and at least two techs on staff 24/7. They have a huge modern facility with an additional facility with hydro-therapy (underwater treadmills) and have even added a Veterinary vision specialist. They only schedule THR's one day per month, but usually do 3 at a time. My daughter and son-in law are good friends of one of the night techs that works there. Any time I have emailed the doctor with a question he has always responded within an hour. I have never had any doubts about choosing them.

zzzfarmer Home at last. He's in good spirits and happy to be home. We have the dining room cleared of furniture and gated off so he has his own space. Ice packs X3 per day for three days. Worst part is over, now for the healing phase.

Colie CVT Good lord, three of them in a day?! I hope that's a big practice lol. It's a huge hassle for us when we have one because we pull everything from the room that's unnecessary then bleach the thing from top to bottom! Not to mention all the instruments required and everything. Goodness they must have a few sets of everything lol. Talk about nuts. Normally we never do more than one a day since it requires all the prep work and two surgeons on top of the interns. Our usual time lately is 4ish hours in OR and 6-7 total hours including films and prep.

Glad that he is doing well! I highly recommend you do physiotherapy with him!! The acupuncture Kenai got before she was cleared for hydro helped her a lot since she couldn't have NSAIDs. Hope he heals up well!

zzzfarmer Dropped Gunner off this AM for his surgery. Needless to say it was a VERY LONG ride home without him. His little sister Ammo was lost and is walking around the house looking for him. The Dr has 3 hip replacements scheduled today, not sure when he'll be under the knife, but will be sitting by the phone (with Ammo by my side) all day.
