Sansa's Mom IMO, bones are good to keep them busy but may be hard to keep handy for redirecting her bite. If you can redirect to a bone, I don't see any problem with it though. Every dog will have their toy of choice, keep her favorite toys (or bones, or whatever) scattered around so you can stuff one in her mouth when she goes into "shark mode" (as my kids call it).

Harry and Lola All puppies and dogs need to chew - it makes them feel good. However, it is not nice if chewing on you! You could give your pup a chicken wing or any meaty bone, where pup can chew and pull and tear the meat off. Otherwise I always gave my pups Nylabones, they all seems to like to chew on the ones that had a chicken flavour.

Saphire Fresh large bones may occupy her for abit, be careful to what kind of large bones and how aggressively she chews them. Some dogs chew so hard they break teeth.

As for biting, redirecting to things other than your body parts is what will eventually stop her from biting you. Just handing her a bone will not stop her from biting you, its definitely a GSD puppy trait which needs redirecting everytime. They do stop eventually.
