MaggieRoseLee Jumping on you is just a training issue that you can work on. Have you got any trainers or dog classes that you can attend with him to quickly get a handle on this? I think you CAN work on both your female and male at the same time, though clearly it's much harder to take on 2 with training issues.

As long as there is no agression, just 'bull in a china shop' then you can mix the 2 dogs together. And you can absolutely try to start crate training with the older dog. Just have the open crate and feed the male in it initially (no closed door the first few times). Want him to think the crate is a good thing and not try to get out. Kongs with frozen yummy stuff helps.

Tips and hints above to help with both dogs and the crates.

You can also start fun training using the crate like:

Vdcabejr Its a long story, but I have a 2yr old male that been outside all of his life. He is completely untrained and jumps all over anyone he can. I have an 8 month female that has been inside, she is crate trained but having potty issues. I've had them 2 days, he is outside and I want to bring them both in the house. But not sure what's the best plan. Can I crate train a 2 year old? He's very loving, but unruly, like a bull in a china closet. Jumps on me constantly. Should I leave him out until she's adjusted and I've got potty issues resolved? Any advice is welcome and needed!
