jocoyn I bought a trachea and it seemed to go in minutes compared to a longer time for a bully stick......did I get the wrong thing?

Wild Wolf SO glad to hear she is okay!

Homemade treats are so much safer. For chews, chop 1/2 inch thick long slices of sweet potato and dehydrate in oven. Or you can buy beef trachea at the butcher and dehydrate those in the oven.

Msmaria Im so glad shes ok. I have given bully sticks but my GSD eats them so fast. And t gets sad when I take it away, plus the smell make sure that you dont give treats from china.

wolfstraum thank goodness she is ok!!!! I almost lost an imported female that ate a little kids bathing suit bottom and the guy training the dog let it go 3 days without discussing her behavior!!!!! $800 and a great vet saved her....

I don't give any chewing things - no pig ears, rawhides, bully sticks, greenies.....just raw marrow bones and treats are either homemade or dehydrated meats...there are a couple stippled nylabones (the dino ones with bumps) and regular ones around that they gnaw on occassionally....but nothing they will gobble up....

trcy I give bully sticks, but I limit it to 20 minutes at a time. My two oldest dogs can finish one, but the GSD puppy doesn't. He gets about half done. Oh, and we cut them in half before we give them out.

jocoyn I have bought the braided bully sticks but even so I am limiting them to one or at most two a week and then I take it away when we get near the end.

I just soaked a nylabone in chicken broth and that seemed to keep his interest for awhile.
