Dog I Will be Adopting Bites Arms
I am going to be adopting a German Shepherd cross (possibly Beagle and/or lab) in March 2014, through my school. She is currently 8 months old.
Today I took her for a walk and after about 15-20 minutes she got very hyperactive and started to jump up at my face, and once realising I wouldn't take any of that she decided grabbing my arm was the next best thing. Luckily her grip slipped down and she only got a hold of my jacket, but she would not let go. A couple of times I was able to get her off but she just got even more hyper and started grabbing at anything and everything, including the leash, my pocket (which had my cell phone in it), and then back to another part of my arm/sleeve. She wasn't growling or showing her teeth at me or anything, but still was quite bitey.
I was just wondering if this kind of behaviour will be easy to train out of once I do get her, and if this is the sort of thing that she will do at dogs as well? At home we have a Boston Terrier cross and a Boston Terrier, and I know I won't be able to keep her if she treats them like that.
Hopefully this is okay to post here; after researching the arm biting seemed more of a German Shepherd-ish thing to do and this seems like a very helpful forum. ^-^
