|llombardo||I'm not seeing how her being in hear has anything to do with it either. The other dogs should have been on a leash. This isn't your fault and I'm glad everything turned out okay.|

|Nigel||Glad she was ok. I'm not trying to be mean at all, but you have had some pretty bad luck this year, hope things settle down and you can enjoy your pups without incident.|

Almost lost Penny
I took Penny to a trail (we walk this one about once a month) and we have never encountered anyone else walking their dog(s) on that trail but I know lots of people do I normally wait till later in the evening to walk there... But on Saturday I almost had a heart attack... I had Penny on her leash and she was walking nicely beside me when two giant Burmese mountain dogs came charging around the corner, knocked me on my butt and Penny bolted (I had dropped the leash when I was knocked over) Penny did not come back when I yelled for her as these two monsters were chasing her. Penny has never ran away from other dogs before, if she was unsure of dogs she normally keeps her head low and stands behind me but has never backed away. Was this because she was in heat? Or was it purely a fact that she was terrified with these two out of control dogs?
I finally caught up to Penny once the two dogs ran back to their owner, as she was waiting at the end of the trail for me. So I get Penny back in the car, as the owner with the two out of control dogs comes out of the trail the dogs were back on their leash. I was not too impressed and politely suggested that she keep her dogs on a leash when she is walking the trail that her dogs had knocked me over and chased my dog all the way to the road. Her response was " my dogs would never do that, and that I should keep my dog on a leash". (which she was it wasnt not my fault that her dogs knocked me over and made me drop the leash). I wasnt going to get into a fight with her but I was so angry that she was putting the blame on me!
I honestly thought that Penny was going to be gone! She was running so fast and left everyone in the dust. But I am glad she stayed and waited at the end of the trail near the car. And Im not sure if I should be focusing on recall again in training with her as this is the first time she didnt come back, but I think it was more a fact of she was terrified!
Ugg stupid dog owners!
