We took Duke back to the vet yesterday and got him the new pills. Also got him a aloe shampoo and unfortunately for him a cone collar. Wow does he hate that thing. But, I know it's for his better good to have it. We have to let everything heel.
Would you guys suggest letting everything heel up first then change food? Or if it doesn't heel then change foods or change foods now?

My girl, Jasmine, was on the 6 Fish formula from about 5 to about 15 months. She is almost two years old now and I rotate between 6 Fish, Regional Red, and the Adult formula. I'm hoping to add another puppy sometime in the not too distant future, and when I do, I plan on picking one of those three formulas (probably the Adult formula because it's the least expensive) and feed it to both Jasmine and the new puppy.
The 6 Fish, Regional Red, and the Adult formulas are all actually ALS formulas, and all have adequately low levels of calcium and phosphorus.

Adult Food to Puppy??? Help Please
So looking for some help,
Over the last couple of weeks we have noticed Duke has become itchy and red spots on his belly and around the inside of his hips etc. He has been liking a lot around his privates area and itching the outside of his hips. We took him to the vet last night and she said that it is most likely caused by an allergy again more than likely a food allergy.
Since we brought Duke home (who is 6.5 months by the way) he has been on Orijen Large Breed Puppy. Lately he has also been getting a few different treats from the Orijen line so it's hard for us to see what may be causing his allergy because there is so many different proteins in those treats.
Right now, we have stopped all treats (we can give him his food as a treat and he thinks it's the best thing ever) and are giving the medication which we hope will clear everything up. The medication he was put on is a antibiotic. He has been put on this medication for 21 days. 1 and a half pills twice daily taken with food.
If, when we stop the medication he is still having the itching and redness we are thinking we may need to change his food. We like Orijens 6 fish however, we are worried about giving an adult food to a puppy.
Any thoughts? Any suggestions? Other then the food and treats the only other things he gets are antler chews and frozen carrots.
Antler chews are not new to him however, he did get one not too long ago which was moose and that was a first for him. We have taken that antler away as well.
