Thanks for all the replies!
I actually havent heard her growl either...but she is definitely a big time whiner.
I have heard very very faint puppy barks in her sleep only, like dream yips but no real bark. Everyone seems surprised then they said send her to daycare or a kennel and she will learn quickly and come home a barker (not that I want that).

My 8 month old does not bark either ( with the exception of a night time bark at the possums maybe once a week. So I know he can bark) The rest of day he won't bark, even if someone knocks or comes to the front door and my smaller dogs are barking up a storm. He is also very mellow and if he wants something he does a very low whine.
My kids wanted to teach him to bark on cue, but how could we do that when he doesn't bark?
I know he's much slower to mature than some dogs, because my vet told me. (He's still having his adult teeth come out.) so that may have something to do with it. He also hasn't growled in 4 months. He only growled one time at my maltipoo when he was 16 weeks old.

|JakodaCD OA||My female really didn't bark hardly at all until she matured out,,she still is not a big barker, more of an alert barker, she is more of a 'watcher'..which is fine by me|

7 months old and barking (lack thereof)
My 7 month old female showline WGSL/ASL cross has yet to let out even the slightest bark. She has only whined.
What gives? Its not that I want her to start barking, I just assumed she would have learned to bark by now.
Overall she is very sweet, low-medium energy but mostly mellow. Also, she is on the smaller side so maybe is is developing more slowly? I would say she is maybe 45 lbs.
