Potty Training - Wetting the Bed
My 7 month old Pierre is having issues with, for lack of a better term, wetting the bed at night. She hasn't had an accident in the house during the day for about two or three months now. Wether she has been left alone in her room or if she is running around the house with us home. Unfortunately at night its a completely different ballgame. She has been either peeing or pooping about 4 times a week. She was crate trained and slowly graduated to having a room to herself at night and when we aren't home. The room is about 9ft x 6ft with plenty of windows, nice comfy carpet, and an abundance of toys. Before we go to bed around 11:00pm we take her outside and make sure she at least pees. Yet, when we wake up at 6:00am for work, we have presents left for us to clean up. She is more than capable of making it 7 hours, as prior to changing jobs she would be home alone from 7:15am to 3:30pm with only the rare isolated accident.
We had the carpet professionally steam cleaned to remove the chemical remains of her urine in an attempt to stop the inviting smell to pee more. Which worked for all of about 2 days.
What can we do to stop her from having these overnight accidents? She doesn't bark to wake us up to go out or anything, she just goes. We'd like to avoid returning to her crate, since she barks and whines all night while she is in it, since she now knows the wonders of having her room to herself.
