|Catterman||Good deal. PSA is a nice fit. The closest psa club to me is about 2 hours.|

|Catterman||You should definitely do PSA. Went to the psa eastern regionals this past saturday. Great group of folks, nation wide. PSA and KNPV are the most "realistic" protection sports. KNPV is not something you want to strive for here in the US. Its like wanting to get into ice fishing when you live in FL. Not going to happen. But PSA should be fine. Go to the website and locate a club in your area. PSA K9 | Protection Sports Association – civilian competition in canine obedience and controlled protection.|

And very patterned, routine. Biting is a very small portion of it. Can't even say the word BITE in a trial or will be DQ'd

Another option is SDA....There is an SDA presence in CA, but I don't know how far from you it is.
If I had my choice, SDA would be my choice of 'sport'.
Some sport clubs will train PSA or KNPV style scenarios and hold protection challenges for showcasing the dogs training and talents. But most focus on one particular sport. I'm going to a protection challenge in a couple weeks, have no clue the scenario's and we haven't really trained for them, I'm just going to have fun after all the IPO training/trialing we've been doing!
Here are some SDA events in CA~ Contact Cindy to find out if anyone is training in your area:

|martemchik||With as many members as this forum has...its spectacular how spread out we all are. I wouldn't hold your breath for getting recommendations. Start visiting clubs/shows/trials for all sorts of venues and making connections...the sad truth is, the majority of the "hardcore" dog training population isn't sitting on the computer much.|
