I would crate a pup that young. Mine seems to be 100% housebroken at 5mo, but he still doesn't get a room to himself unsupervised. Too much chance of setting up a bad habit...much harder to "break" them once they've learned they can...

|Mary Beth||It sounds to me that your pup is only housetrained to the living room - the rest of the rooms he considers the backyard. So, I suggest you start over. Also take him out at regular times, he is still very young, and the more rooms he is allowed in, the further away is the door to the outside and the longer he has to hold it which he may not be capable of doing.|

potty training problem 13 weeks old, please help.
Joined the forum for some insight. Got my GS puppy at 8 weeks old. We had him blocked off in the living room and by 11 1/2-12weeks he was going to the door and going outside consistently, only 1-2 accidents. Thought all was well and since he was going to the door, I opened the living room up into the dining room to give him some more space yesterday. He is now 13 1/2 weeks.
Well now the problem started.. He has stopped going to the door and is walking and peeing on the carpet, or he just stops walking and starts peeing while looking at me. Im baffled as he was going to the door just fine the other day now he is doing this. Any help on why or what to do would be greatly appreciated!
Just to clarify-Since 11 1/2 weeks old hes been going to the door and has had no accidents, going on 2 weeks now. Now at 13 1/2 weeks old and making the room a bit bigger, he is having accidents and not going to the door.
