|trcy||My daughter was born in Dec. When we picked up her official birth certificate it said Oct. ...?? They fixed it, but how inept can someone be?|

Why? Why? Why? I never had official copies of my kids birth certificates - nor my own. Remember when government agencies accepted the paper that said, "There is record on file?" Well, no more. Fortunately, my oldest was able to get her passport with that piece of paper.
I printed out 4 forms to order the birth certificates. $24.00 each - plus a self addressed stamped envelope. My son's came first. It was fine, except they rounded up his weight to 7 pounds. I suppose that is OK. Then came middle child's. No problem. Today's mail brought my oldest daughter's and mine. Mine was fine, even though I born in 1958, and the hospital I was born in no longer exists.
My daughter's though??? Half the information is missing. It looks like they were in a hurry, because the certificate is folded cockeyed. It doesn't list her weight, my place of birth, or my husband's place of birth. What the heck? What do we do now? I can just see calling the Dept. of Vital Statistics. What are the odds I will ever talk to a "real" person. Want to take bets on how many times I will have to repeat the story, or how many times I will be told to hold and then be cut off? Of course, I will also have to say that I am my daughter, since she is 24. Otherwise, they'll be telling me that she needs to call herself. I am sooooo frustrated!
