I think the ignoring and no eye contact is GOOD advice..
I would continue on with classes , they are fun and it's always a continued learning experience as well as socializing our dogs.
How is she out in public? I would be out walking her where there are people, she doesn't have to interact with them, just be around them more.

Timid 5 month puppy
Our pedigree 5 month old female puppy is a beautiful, well natured, friendly puppy - except when we get visitors. She barks repeatedly and then runs away. I tell all my visitors to make no eye contact and not speak to her so she can make the first move, but the first 10 min are always her barking and running away. We got her at 8 weeks and she has had no trauma in her life with us. We have completed a puppy beginners cause and she was ok when we were doing it, not super friendly with the other people but not barking or anything. We only do reward training with her. Any help would be appreciated.
