|My5dogs||Crocky- I am going to visit my breeder on Oct 10. I will ask her these questions along with a trainer we will be using. see what their thoughts are. the way I always did it it always went well..but I have a great dane and he is quite large lol so like you said I don't want the puppy overwhelmed. I actually think my dane will just ignore him! I take him to the dog park and he pays no attention to the other dogs only my other ones and me he cares about. he's a big baby. But I will let you know by PM what breeder/trainer feels|

I have been contemplated this as well. We currently have a female and male dachshund and a male yorkie. They are use to a big dog as we recently lost our female GS a few months back and they had been together for 8 yrs but my female dachshund is my main worry as she can be a little bitchy. My two males are sweethearts.
For now I think I will bring the new little man to the front yard which they don't frequent as much and then bring one out at a time.
I had thought about doing it as you mentioned in your OP by just bringing him in and holding him and letting them sniff then putting him down but I don't want them to overwhelm him from the first minute they meet even though at 8 weeks he will be just as big if not bigger than they are.
But still undecided what would be best so I will be tagging along to hear others thoughts and experiences.

|mbussinger166||I say if it ain't broke don't fix it. If you are concerned I would introduce each dog to the new puppy separately and make sure they are on a leash in case things get rough. congrats on the new puppy.|

Introducing male GSD to our other dogs
Hi there so we have 3 dogs now a male golden retriever, female golden and male Great Dane. Ages 3,3 and 2. They are stuck together like glue, never ever had any issues as far as dominance, fighting nothing. My male Dane will get a little jealous when we give our male golden attention he will basically come between us and the golden or paw at him with tail wagging.. Other than that I have been fortunate to have raised 3 great dogs. Just wondering how to introduce our puppy when we get him in November. With our other dogs when we brought them home we held them let the others sniff etc and then put the puppy down and they were off and playing. My dogs are for the most part gentle when they play. Would any of you introduce them differently or keep doing what I have done in the past??? Thanks so much!!
