Apparently klm has a tremendous pet hotel in Amsterdam. You can google it and they have a YouTube video of it As well as multiple sources of feedback. I feel a little better about it.

|andreaB||I would be little worry about that waiting time in Amsterdam. Is it really necessary? Can they send him strait? My boy come from Frankfurt to JFK non stop. Before I have him it still was at least 16 hours. He was completely fine.|

|Chris Wild||Long flights from Europe are just the way it is. I'd expect the puppy and crate to be dirty as most likely the pup will pee, and maybe poop, during such a long transport. But if the nerves on the pup are sound the puppy will be fine and not overly bothered by the experience.|

|mspiker03||When we imported, the breeder would only use a direct flight. I think Paisley was in a crate for about 22 hours though - between travel to the airport, the flight to the West Coast, and then being held in cargo until we were allowed to get her.|

IMPORTING a pup from Europe?
im buying an 8 week old GSD pup from a well known kennel in europe. The travel arrangements total 29 hours to the USA including a 15 hour layover/flight change in amsterdam. Have any of you experienced this with a puppy? AM i overly concerned? or is this abnormally long? I live in major merto area on east coast, not like its shipping to FIji or timbuktu....
