One of the dogs I had as a kid used to make this weird grunting-type sound every so often. Our vet said it was reverse sneezing. Maybe that's what your dog is doing?
Watch the video of the pug reverse sneezing.

|DHau||My dog has allergies and at times she wheezes. Maybe your dog has allergies too?|

|Rogue's Mama||the chicken was a chicken breast so no bone. I don't cook things with bone in it too often. She is running around like a crazy dog this morning but still occasionally sounding congested. I am going to call her vet when they open in about 20 minutes.|

Could she have gotten into something or eaten a toy, etc!?
O my...just remembered...the chicken !
Did she eat that cooked chicken bone!?
When in doubt, I always go to the vet.

|Rogue's Mama||She is purely an inside dog besides going out to use the restroom and going on walks but we have not been outside much today as I have not been home most of the day because of errands. It sounds as though she is congested or something is blocking her airways. She has been drinking fine and she had her dinner a couple hours ago. Besides her breathing everything else is perfectly normal with her.|

|Rogue's Mama||Just realized grunting is not the word I should have used.. she is BREATHING like a bulldog! its been a long day|

Is it very hot? It could be a reason. The tongue would be out in that case and she would be panting as well.
Are you feeding it too much? Could be too fat.( just a suggestion)
Funny one. Looks like a nice muzzle on her.

Grunting like a bulldog (breathing problems?)
I feel like I am always asking questions but I am very worried about my pup right now. Like 2 weeks ago I noticed she was doing a grunting type sound (kind of like a bulldog does) when she breathes. Well it went away and then yesterday it came back and then today and especially tonight its worse. I can hear her doing it across the room. I called my father and he told me maybe distemper (I think thats what he said) but she already has all of her shots. Is this normal for german shepherds? Or is this something that she needs to be taken to the vet for immediately? She is extremely active, drinks plenty of water, eating just fine! It is just her breathing. Have any of y'all know what in the world could be going on? She is only 16 weeks old.
