Our family friend was taking her daughter to Disney. I haven't been able to turn off the TV today. I am traveling for work and have talks to go to, but I feel like I just can't move.

I worked in a 24/7 Sat Coms Ops center. Commercial, not military, though we did have military contracts and people from the military working with us.
Upon the news we all gathered in the Ops Center which is filled with monitors of various news, weather and information outlets and watched it unfold, live, in horror.
I haven't been able to watch the replay of those events, until this morning for a few minutes. I had to turn it off.
Today I'm going make sure to really practice patience and kindness (I try to do that every day but today I'm going to try even harder to be 100%).

|Cheerful1||My cousin was a Captain in the FDNY. That morning he was coming off his shift; when they got the call, he went right to the towers. His body was never found. He was to celebrate his 40th birthday that day.|

|LoveEcho||I remember my dad was supposed to be traveling to NYC that day.... he got sick and didn't go. He came to my school and brought me home and just cried. We lost friends on of the planes. A couple of days after my dad and I went down with the Red Cross. The smell is something I will never forget.|

That day I came back from the vet ER with my dog in critical condition, turned on the TV and then that news. It was like I just stepped into a horror movie. I was frozen in front of the TV for two weeks. It is so sad what it has done to the world, its leaders and its people.
RIP for the victims.
