I don't think your Puppy is testing you. I DO however, think you need to see a trainer before sticking on that ecollar again. How your dog goes back at you after a correction doesn't sound good, in my uneducated opinion. You are probably correcting wrong and creating alot of frustration and confusion for him.
My puppy did the same thing a while back. If she was feeling playful, she would come by, paw at my hand, and then if I ignored that, mouth my hands harder and harder until I gave her a reaction. I realized I was only making it worse by reacting to it after letting her progress.
I suggest you keep a leash on your dog, whenever the grabbing happens, immediately yell NO in a firm voice, move your dog to the crate, and repeat as needed.
After crating for a while, I would sugges tletting your dog out and ENGAGING with your dog on your terms by playing and wearing off some of the energy. I don't know about your dog, but with my puppy, she did this because she wanted to play with me and still had energy to go. I crated her to tell her that I interact with her on my terms, and she can't just bite my hand until I give in. However, addressing the root of the problem (which is more exercise) is also a key to my success in addressing my puppy's problem.
Just my 2 cents.

|JaxGSD||I know he gets attention by doing this I just don't know how to remove him, and It hurts so It's hard not to react in some ways.like I said when I walk away he still manages by getting me from behind, I always reward him and give attention for being calm I just don't get it|

|JaxGSD||My dog has ALLOT of energy that is why I must play with him allot, we go for a walk daily and play adleast 2+ hours a day, he's off leash and mostly fetch, he goes to a dog park to play with other dogs. We did buy a e-collar and I do use it when he bites me and it stops him but he lunges right back, I tried crating him but I know it isn't correcting the problem, when I try walking away sometimes he lunges me from behind Unusually go in a another room until he calms down, when I come out he's calm but still bites at some point in the day|

I do think ecollars have a place in training with some dogs but I also believe that those who choose to use them do so for the right reason and not before learning all that goes with this training method. Ecollars can cause horrid issues if used incorrectly and without knowledge.
Definately not the be all end all of training methods available.

I would get a stick or an e collar. See how he likes that. I think there is no need for a dog to ever be biting people, so just let him know that is not acceptable.
Also try to invent games or activities that you can do.

Has there, with all of this, been a decrease in his activity?
A 10 month old male German Shepherd is like a little boy. All energy, not a lot of compassion! You would most likely see a lot of this behavior regardless of your physical condition.

That's ok, it is definitely annoying but he seems to have started this about 1 month & half ago since my boyfriend has started working away. He was always nippy as a pup but we always re-directed him to a toy and it had seemed to stop, but lately he started again and of course he is bigger now and i'm very petite and it's like he tries to over power me sometimes out of the blue, he jumps up and bites me, the more I say no & push him off he gets more wined up, eventually he will stop & listen to my commands. I have allot of chronic pain like I mentionned, I'm a very confident person and calm but stern with him but always wondered why he only reacts to me like this, thought maybe cause he sees that as a weakness, I don't know wha to do anymore!
