They think they're so sneaky. I don't have a problem with blood. I would have been in trouble yesterday if I had lol. Amazing how one little nail can bleed so much! but anyway, yeah, I don't have any stypic powder and I used the last of my flour last time I baked so I had ice and a napkin! The bleeding would stop and he'd be like Okay i'm good! and away he'd go. I have blood spots on the stairs because he decided he needed to go upstairs. There were streaks all over my kitchen floor and in my hallway downstairs before I finally managed to recall him to me again to pin him again. He looks at me today and looks back at his foot like "you did this mom. This is still your fault.... gimme a treat"
Thinks he's a little con artist! Where do they learn this stuff?!?!?! Glad your pup is good though. Even if he is trying to guilt you haha.

I know! I'm calm now, and can't help but laugh about it now. It's so funny how they act sometimes. He's still trying to play the sympathy card somewhat. No more low head pitiful eyes. Now its replaces with tag wagging paw raising "look at me" eyes. lol.
He's going to try and milk this for all its worth, I can tell. (I almost wrote "tail" ha)

HAHAHAHA!!!! I was cutting the dog's nails yesterday. Quicked Dax. he didn't notice. he DID notice me freaking out yelling at my 4 year old to bring me a napkin so I could stop the bleeding which had me practically laying on Dax. He didn't notice I'd clipped too much. He did however not appreciate being pinned lol. Now he walks around holding that foot up or when he see's me watching him, he limps dramatically.
dogs. dramatic monsters!

Nail trim gone wrong...
Ok, so maybe I freaked out a little more than Buddy did. Maybe I was the one that started panicking going "OMG OMG OMG". When your vet makes you take some deep breaths before going back to look at your dogs nail, while your dog is looking at you crazy..maybe it really wasn't THAT bad.
Buddy's nails got kinda long, so I decided to trim them. Buddy is 20lbs of terror on four legs at times. He HATES his nails getting trimmed. I start, the neighbor slams the door (I live in a duplex) Buddy freaks, tries to jump off the couch, gets a nail caught and RIPS it almost out. Of course I freak, get the bleeding to stop, tried to trim back some of his foot floofs to see the damage, he screams, I do some sort of whine thing. Finally I just scoop him him and take him to the vet.
Buddy is more calm than me, my vet is looking at me trying not to laugh it seems. Makes me take some deep breaths, take him back, get him on the table, decides to just yank it like a band aid.
He doesn't move. Doesn't wine, yelp, bark or anything. Is just like "yeah whatever"...really...REALLY? Thanks dog, invalidate my feelings of worry why don't you, lol.
Don't get me wrong, it was nasty, he got it all the way to the paw and he did do some damage to his foot., but it looks worse than what it actually was.
She trimmed the rest of the nails for me and gave me some antibiotics to give him to be on the safe side. Best yet, she told me I could just come back by tomorrow and pay her. I didn't bother to stop at the bank to get any money out and I lost my checkbook somewhere in the house.
Best yet....Buddy walks and runs on it just fine until we get home. Now he lifts of that back leg just a little and looks at me with his head low and sorrowful pitiful eyes. I tell myself no sympathy! Yeah, doesn't work though.
