|Crocky||Thanks, I actually already contacted Mike. I am considering it but I just want basic obedience for now.|

|Catterman||What kind of training?? OB, bitework, agility? I live in greenville and i train at Bullock's K9. Mike is one of the best trainers in the country as far as bitework goes. If you plan to do bitework, do not take your dog anywhere other than where he will be doing bitework, for the OB training. Ive seen certain kennels, not mentioning names, that have ruined a good prospect for personal protection. Go to Mike's site Police Dog Training School & Police Dogs For Sale | Bullocks K9 Service Contact him or just come out. Youre really not going to find a trainer better than Mike. If you just want OB, than i would still recommend Bullock's.|

Thaks for the links, I missed this post somehow until now. I will keep looking for sure. I may just have to bite the bullet with the weekday evening classes. I don't want to miss out on the crucial time frame where their brains are like sponges.
I trained my last GS but I was not consistent after the puppy phase. It is amazing the recall on commands they have even when you don't do it for a while. Such smart creatures they are. I intend to be much more consistent this time around.

Most dog classes are during the week and top trainers go to trials which tend to take up their weekends.
I'd keep searching the internet and talking to people. If you don't get any specific responses then join any of them that can fit into your schedule and that will get you into the 'dog' world so you will make connections and start hearing about other connections and links.

Training in the Greenville NC area
I actually live in Grifton and there are a couple of places that do training here that I am aware of but curious if anyone knows anyone that may not be frequently publicly advertised and reputable. I have done searches and only come up with the two that I am familiar with. Top dog and new levels which are both really recommended but the time frames for classes don't meet my schedule right now. Most are at night during the week and with my job it may be hard to attend those.
