Dog spit, Eskimos, and Franz Boas
It was Franz Boas who said Eskimos have an unusually large number of words for snow.
If you have lived with a dog for any length of time, you must feel the same way I do....we as dog people, like the Inuit (if we're pc), should have as many words for dog spit, and they do for snow!
I'll start.....and please join in;
The dog spit I hate the most, as it is a violation of my love and trust, and dang-it, just plain rude....you know the moment, you snuggle up in bed, and your best friend lays next to you with his/her head on your chest, and you both relax as you scratch behind the ears.....then suddenly, without warning....DOG SNEEZE!....Holy Mother of God, I am a mouth breather! this blend of dog snot and dog spit is not only all over my face, but it has also come to rest in my freaking mouth!!!
I would like to submit to the naming committee, for their consideration, calling this blend of snot/spit delivered via a sneeze as "splot".
