German Shepherd Dog
If you know her sire/dam name or any dogs in her pedigree, you can try doing a search on the above site, with those names, altho if she is ckc , you may not get anything..
It's worth a shot tho, sometimes there are akc dogs further back in a ckc dogs pedigree, for whatever reason they weren't able to akc reg the dog so they tend to go with ckc ..

|sepianc||Thank you so much! I had been to the AKC site before posting this but they worded it in a way that made it seem like her parents had to be AKC registered to even apply for anything. I just checked it out and that's a huge help! Also, I am curious to find out the best way to go about find her pedigree? More/less for my own curiosity; would like to find out who she came from.|

If she is spayed, you can do all kinds of activities in AKC by getting a PAL registration. Used to be an ILP number, but I believe now it's PAL...You can look up the info on the akc site.
You can do agility in Nadac, CPE, USDAA, ASCA by just registering her with the venue you wish to compete in..ASCA also does obedience..
The only thing you wouldn't be able to compete in is conformation (show ring) because the requirement for a PAL is the dog is spayed/neutered which you have to show proof of

questions about pedigree/registration
I have a 9 month old female GSD. I have grown up with the breed but have never shown or done anything professionally. We bought Shadow off of a local couple who was having a difficult time with her. They said that they bought her from a local breeder (which I suspect is a backyard breeder) and they gave us all of the information they had, which was her parents' names and the litter number. From what I gather, her parents are registered with CKC (which, from what I'm finding out, doesn't mean much). We brought her home to be a family dog (which she definitely is; she is incredibly smart and sweet and beautiful is an understatement!), so we're not worried about her pedigree for showing purposes. I am curious if there is a way to obtain a more credible registration for her and how to go about doing this? I have been trying to do research and keep running into dead ends and can't even find the breeder that this couple said she bought her from. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
