In the style of Cesar Milan, "how do you feel about your mother, pinklady?"
J/k. :P . He is looking great. 80 lbs at 8 months. I think ours is headed there as well. However, ours seems to growing in length first rather than height.

Welcome back! Wow he's so big and grown up! Where did that tiny puppy go lol
It sounds like you're working hard with meeting new people with success so that's a good sign and I'm glad you're continuing to work with him on his issues. There's no such thing as a perfect dog, they all have their quirks that's for sure

I wish I knew. When we got his mother, she was already pg and we think that's why they got rid of her, probably because she wasn't bred with another shepherd. We often think he looks mastiff, lab sometimes and other times a pit. Who knows, could be all of them!
Below are pix of 4 of the other puppies from the same litter. There were two brindles who are smaller than the other 5. I love that I get to see them all grow up!!!
The brindle ones are sooo gorgeous, we were so tempted to keep the brindle girl. She's pretty dominant so I'm glad we didn't as we don't need two dominant dogs.

Loki - 8 month pictures/follow up
Hello everyone - some of you may remember me from this thread: http://www.germanshepherds.com/forum...p-raisers.html
Well here are some recent pix of the puppy we kept, Loki. He is now a little over 8 months and 80 pounds. He is very tall. He can be a little dominant with our other female dog, as he does NOT want her to get any attention away from him. However, it's nice to not have to worry about them killing each other like we did with his mom and our other dog. In fact, even got a picture of them together in Loki's crate (don't worry, as soon as I took picture, they were let out). He is GREAT with my kids, and he really really seems to like my son, he's almost his shadow. He does NOT like to be left alone. If we all go upstairs and he's stopped by the gate (gate blocks access to the upstairs or cats room), he panics and tries to knock it down to get by us. As long as we're in his eyesight he is fine.
Still working on getting him to leave the cats alone. Hate the gate up, but not taking down until I can completely trust him. We've had him at basic training and he is also VERY smart, probably the smartest dog we've ever had, he has learned to ring the bell when he has to go potty (and sometimes rings it even when he doesn't have to go). Sometimes I think he chases the cats so we say 'leave it' just so he gets a reward.
My slight worry is that he does sometimes tend to be fearful when meeting people. My nephew is afraid of him and Loki seems to sense it and will bark at him. My other nephew he barely even looks at. He is terrified of my mother too, he will bark at her and run away. Both my nephew and mom give him treats which did help, but he still seemed leery of my mother. I'm hoping that is something that fades as we continue to socialize with people.
Anyway, so that's my follow up after a long 8 months. Feels like forever ago that they were all born. I look back on it now and wonder how on earth we did it!!!!
