|kelseycub||If you worked at a doggy day care they'd most likely let you bring your dog. I know our groomer gets to bring her two dogs to free daycare daily. I would love that. My boyfriend wants to open up his own computer repair shop in the future and I know he won't rent / lease a location unless they allow him to bring our dogs. His barber always has his dog in the shop. I've also stopped in a liquor store where the owner had a German shepherd behind the counter.|

I am glad I asked! Thank you! I am very interested in detection...and also search and rescue. Would it help that I am an experienced Lifeguard/Instructor anybody know? Last I heard of search and rescue it was mostly volunteer and hard to make a career out of. But it would be very interesting to try and learn regardless.
I suppose there is nothing to stop us starting some detection training basics (esp cellphone). My dog quite literally amazes me with how quickly she picks things up, sometimes I think it's a fluke but then she shows me 10x in a row that it wasn't! She is SO eager to please and learn and her attention span for her age amazes me. I think we would both enjoy a job together or atleast enjoy the training even if a job never came of it.

why can't you do cell phone detecting for fun? let the dog find
cell phones on your friends, hide the cell phones around the
house, the yard, in the car, garage. place the cell phones
on a path before taking your dog for a walk. does a cadaver
dog in training search for a packaged scent? buy the scent
and place it around. you could have somone place the cell
phones and the cadaver scent around so the dog isn't following
your scent to it's mark.

Im curious about this also, my dog has a great nose and temperament. Id love to work with her, but how could cell phone detecting or cadaver dog be a civilian occupation? Not that id want to see a dead body or work in prison anyways.
I was a ups driver and got sent to pick up a package at a hospital once, I got sent down in the basement and couldnt find the shipper. Then I saw that it was the morgue and nobody was there, I left without picking up the package.

working with your dog doesn't have to be a dream. start now. get up and start training and socializing. what does dreaming do? hands on and doing makes dreams come true. you can dream forever and that's all you'll have is a dream.

I'm a software developer and work from home most of the time.
I need to work on coming up with jobs for Kaiser besides wanting me to play fetch with him all day.
