We recently moved to jacksonville so I had to find a new vet. Before we had always gone to the same one and she absolutely hated him.
He was the family vet of my boyfriend and since she's my first dog I don't question it. He was never in the room more than 5 minutes.
She actually took time to try and calm her down, giving her pets.
It was hard for me to let her go alone for out first visit but when we go back in 2 weeks I'm going to stand outside not being seen but still being able to hear what's going on.
She seems like a good vet, and i can't believe I let her be taken care of by the other vet the way we were.
But you live and learn, I guess.

I have been going to the same vet for over 15 years and when they want to take one of the Hooligans to the back for treatment I don't like it, yet I'm comfortable with it.
The only time I'd go to a different vet is in an emergency, then as much as I wouldn't like it, I'd let them follow their hospital policy (but I'd ask to stay with my dog).

|Loneforce||I learned that the dog or what ever the animal is, acts a lot differently when the owner is not there. You are probably better off staying away during the exam. BTW I learned this from my Jonas. He is a big chicken when I am there and runs to me for security. Your dog will do fine.|

Vet said it was about 1-2 cm long. When we go back to get te other lepto booster in 2 weeks she will biopsy it.
Jasmine was too stressed out.
How do u feel about having your pet examined when you aren't there? That's what they want to do because they feel she will act different without me there.
I've always been there and always held her while being examined, however this vet does not allow it..
Not too sure how I feel.
But she wanted to make jasmine as comfortable as possible and took time to do things to try and make her less stressed.
Hopefully with the happy visits we can do l, she will get used to everyone.
I'm hoping its just a fatty tumor since jasmine recently gained 5 pounds which we need to loose.

I was thinking about stopping by petsmart and getting one.
she is completely fine, until strangers put their hands on her. then she barks, backs away, etc.
she has to have 15-20 mins to warm up to someone but I know that isn't reasonable.
I will make sure they understand her and make sure they can accomidate us. if not, im sure there is a vet that will.

its a little bigger than a quarter but I wouldn't go as far as a silver dollar.
We just moved and haven't found a vet yet but I looked online and found one that is open late and on Saturday.
I am going to call when the open tomorrow and see if they can get us in.
Hopefully they can and they are okay dealing with difficult dogs.

|Loneforce||You defineitly want a vets opinion on something like that. It might just be a fatty tumor, or it could be worse. They probably will cut some off and do a biopsy on it. It is worth getting it done and give you a piece of mind.|

|Nigel||How big is it? Zoey had a lump about the size of dime last year, took her in and it was a boil. The vet lanced it and that was it. Best to get it checked out.|
