|Jag||Did the vet do fecal testing on the pup? For more than worms? Sounds like the pup was sick with an intestinal infection... worth re-checking just to make sure.|

|wink-_-wink||You will be wishing he wouls sleep more in a few weeks! currently at the ripe age of 6 months, as a nightly ritual about 10pm when all the kids are in bed and mommy and daddy are relaxing, Hero turns from sweet slightly playful puppy into a RACECAR! driving as fast as his legs will carry him, in the kitchen, back to the living room on and around the sectional, back to the other side of the long living room, back to the couch, back in the kitchen stop for water or gas, and then back at it! He is doing sprints as fast and as hard as he can! and after about 5-10 minutes of completely spazzing out, he is ready to lay down and relax... your puppy is only there for 4 days, let him adjust to his new home, get used to not having his mom, and getting used to his new home. He will gain weight and grow like a weed, and have more energy than you know what to do with! I am sure we will see you here posting about "how to" or "What should I do now" with your ball of energy and I look forward to it! A little pre answer to most your questions are, Training, no, yes, yes, sometimes, yes the ears will go up, teething, no, more training and then train some more. hahah PICS PICS PICS are mandatory here! lol love watching them grow.|

|KZoppa||you said you've only had him 4 days. if you were him, wouldnt you be a little stressed by that sudden change? New family, new place. MANY changes for one so young. He's also a baby. Babies sleep a lot. Enjoy it. Give him some time to figure things out and get used to the changes and if he's sick, give the meds time to do their magic. I'm sure you'll have a landshark on your hands soon enough.|

|Carriesue||Agreed with Lennox... People seem to forget for whatever reason that puppies are BABIES! It's completely and totally normal for them to sleep a lot at that age... enjoy it will it lasts, lol! 11 weeks is not that far from 8 weeks, mine is almost 5 months old and still sleeps a fair amount though not as much as he did at that age.|

11 wk pup very sleepy?
I have an 11 week old GSD pup, he has been with us for 4 days. He is small for his age and I took him to my vet yesterday as I was concerned about his size and weight for his age.
The Vet was not concered although he did agree that my pup is thin. He gave some dewormer and another dose for a week. Also he had some diarrhea that the breeder treated with flagyl.
I am concerned about his sleep habits, he sleeps often! i realize that puppies do sleep a lot, however he acts like an 8 week old pup and not an 11 week?
Could this be due to his small size?
Any help would be appreciated.
