Karin I'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet, Thunder. I remember well your story of rescuing these two senior girls in need, and how much effort you put into integrating them into your family (i.e., Lucky!) Thank you for giving these girls a wonderful, loving home in which to spend their last years.

The reunion of the two sisters must have been very joyous, indeed!

Run free, Chevy and Thunder!

Daisy&Lucky's Mom July brought an end to the journey that began in in the late fall of 2012. Chevy left us in Feb of this year and now Thunder has joined her over the bridge . Chevy you will always be the queen of the couch and cuddles. Thunder you were the most human tolerant dog Ive ever met. your sweetness was overwhelming. Thank you for sharing your journey w/ me. Run free sweet girls run free.

Daisy&Lucky's Mom Just updating Chevy and Thunder's thread. The girls have been here for a year. We are slowly building the pack and while we still have ups and downs things seem to be getting better.

Daisy&Lucky's Mom Its been along while since I posted re our pack integration progress. here is an update but no pictures since I cant get them to load right now. We have went from actual contact bites to Lucky snapping once amonth and actually play bowing every couple of days and trying to get the girls to play. Yesterday Lucky and Chevy laid butt to butt. We are a pack !Not a 100% happy pack but a loose knit pack that can share the same bedroom ,yard and even the same room. Thank God for the book by the Norwegian lady re dog language. I yawn a lot now. I also am the ultimate in if you lift your lip you deal w/ me and your out by yourself. My hope is that by Christmas Ill post a picture of three dogs posing in front of the tree. As soon as I get the attachments to work Ill post pictures.

Daisy&Lucky's Mom kiya I believe your right. Its 5:00am and Im up typing at the kitchen table waiting on my coffee but my three vigilant shepherd are in my bedroom upstairs snoozing but most importantly together. Chevy has me up w/her yeast infected ear at 4:00am so I cant sleep but they are comfortable enough that they are sleeping together or they are all following the adage let old sleeping dogs sleep.Well we continue the pack journey! Now for some caffeine.

kiya I look at it this way, if they really wanted to hurt each other they would have. I just think it's taking more time to work all the kinks out.
Hang in there, your doing great and before you know it you'll have one big happy family!

Its episodic I think thats a word. We have fantastic days. The girls love the pond and jump in when they can. Lucky and they on their own sit together. I am most of the problem b/c Im so focused on not having anything happen that is negtive I think I set it off.I have to remember what my husband said It s not going to be easy there will be problems and fights but recognize its getting better. It is getting better but them becoming comfortable means its going to take a while like mebully said. I have to say Im never bored and if I can just get through the 22nd of this month I will have alot more time to devote to all of them and hopefull do some train9ing with the girls. The girls are happy ,they have an airconditioned or heated sunroom Chevy has claimed the couch as her cuddle spot and when its hot they get the basement. Its rough sometimes but when I think about having two dogs ,Dodger put his canine through Daisy sinus cavity,Daisy knocked Lucky of the deck he was in doggie bed rest and major meds. Lucky knocked Daisy over two days after her fistula surgery and that required a visit back to the vet.
