Colie CVT It is never easy when you put time and love into an animal, see them go from that place of darkness and sadness to being able to offer something so wonderful and so needed for another person! Try maybe to think of it in this way. You rescued him, showed him that life can be so wonderful that he can now go on and show someone who cannot face the world alone that they will be okay. That he will be there to help guide them through that darkness and back to the light, just as he was shown when you took him from that bad situation and gave him the love he deserved. <3

This is an absolutely selfless thing to do and because of your willingness to let him be matched with someone in need, you are completely changing two lives. It isn't easy. I have wanted to help with puppy raising for service work, especially with how my boy who I raised from day one has become more than merely my dog. He's my partner, my other half and without him, I'm not the same person as I am with him around. Service dogs give someone so much while asking for so little in return.

Just sit back and think of what will be, what his journey will now do. Of course you will miss him and it hurts to see him go, but what you are doing is such an amazing thing. You in a way are being an angel to someone in need by giving them Keeno. I have little doubt this woman will be so happy and feel so blessed. The ability to live without episodes, without fear and anxiety... It's truly priceless.

cethlen1621 What an amazing job you've allowed him! There will always be some mixed emotions. He will probably miss you, but will be happy to have another good family. The vet will most likely be very grateful to have such an loving friend in Keeno to help her through. Bless your heart!

Zimom Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! My daughter has a service dog from a very reputable agency. We are still close to the couple who raised her dog the first 18 months (puppy raisers). They follow my daughter and support her in many ways. I know this is very hard, but trust me, you are making such an impact on this vet's life.

Keeno is going into a Service Dog Program for veterans

thanks for all your support. Keeno is 2 1/2 yrs. old. I rescued him 11 months ago and brought him back to good health. I had him neutered and got him all his vaccinations. He was barely fed when he lived at the other place.Right now he is outside playing with my golden retriever and wacky little beagle. I just hope he knows how much I do love him.One minute I am happy for him and the next minute I am sad. but too..

RachelRees00 I can understand what feelings you are going through and what different emotions you will feel both good and bad for letting your pup go and do this amazing thing, I am unsure of how old he is as I am a newbie to both site and GSD, but if anything like my children, no matter what their age they will always be your babies! My eldest daughter left home last year got married and moved to a different country, so yes I do have a little idea of the seperation anxiety you will encounter but if you focus on all the good... the positives, it will keep this big grin on your face for sure (Big hugs)

I am feeling sad Keeno is leaving even though I am doing the right thing it is still eating at me. My fear is that he thinks I have deserted him. We do not know what they are capable of thinking. I do not know how the people that raise the seeing eye pups get through this. Keeno is a wonderful dog and 100% Czech working line. He is so intelligent and intuitive he will make his veteran feel safe and secure. He loves to be on the go all the time. Being with his veteran is just what he needs ad he will be going every where with his person. No more dogs for me. Nope.

Thank-you Moriah that means alot to me. I look at Keeno sleeping on the couch beside me and I feel sad but so proud of him at the same time. Monday will be hard though. He has been selected for a lady veteran who has a bad case of PTSD and he will watch out for her and love her when she is stressed or just down in the dumps......
