middleofnowhere I had one dog that would hold everything for 24 to 48 hours when we traveled and we traveled a lot. Once she decided it was OK to use strange "toilets" all was fine for the rest of that trip.

One thought would be if you find some discreate bushes out in the country, you might do a bit of a demo for her to get the idea. For the bowel movement inspiration, a small bit of an adult human prepared enema proves very effective. Use no more than 1/2, be outside when this is administered and have the dog's butt somewhat elevated to apply it. Result on this last procedure is quite swift...

Pax8 If you're road tripping with her right now or even just about to go (packing, getting ready), she may be stressed. It may just take a little while for her to realize that nothing bad is going to happen and she can relax. Usually if it persists beyond about 36 hours is when I worry about it.

Hi,
I have a 2 years old gsd, that I'm taking her with me to cross country road trip.
Unfortunately I noticed that she has not peed nor pooped in the past 12 hours. Although she is eating normally and drinking water as well. I'm not sure is to why she hasn't pooped or peed.
Right now the temperature outside is 100 degrees, not sure if that's the reason she's not peeing.
Has anyone experienced these problems? Should I be worried?
