|LisaT||I don't know alot about what works. Some owners use l-theanine to take the edge off. Drug-wise, you'd have to look at some of the vet behaviour sites.|

No fireworks issues for us, just anxiety over being left in a strange place.
Exactly the kind of thing I wanted to know. Any ideas or suggestions on something to use as a calming agent?

I don't know much about tranqualizers, except that Ace is not supposed to be given for fireworks, since it does nothing to calm fears.

Who has experience with tranquillizers?
We are boarding Shadow in a new place while we go on vacation and were considering giving him something to take the edge off. Our vet said he usually recommends ace (sp?), but was out until this week due to the horrible storms and fourth of July fireworks.
Has anyone used ace or anything else and how did it work out?
