|Ellimaybel||I don't know how you cook just kidding lol But in all seriousness, Gunther does this when I have my fire pit going outside. Sometimes I move closer him to sit in the grass by him and calm him. Mostly I ignore his behavior and his desire to be with me brings him in. Not that any of that helps since one is outdoor intentional and one is indoor not intentional. But yeah, I go through it too. I think Kaiju is just doing his job. Good dog!!!!!!!!!!!|

Smoke makes him anxious
I've really never had a problem with Kaiju being afraid of pretty much anything before. I can't remember if I saw this behavior in my old house...maybe a little bit but it is much more pronounced in the smaller space.
When there is a good amount of smoke coming from my kitchen (like tonight when I was reseasoning my cast iron skillet) Kaiju gets extremely anxious. He starts panting quite a bit and doesn't get like terrified or anything, but definitely anxious. He occasionally whines, paces the apartment, and comes and nudges my hand (his "there's something wrong, mom" gesture).
Has anyone ever experienced this before? What did you do about it?
At least I never have to worry about a fire sneaking up on me, I suppose.
