wolfie13 That's great. I'm glad that Zoe is doing so much better. I wish Wolfie was so enthusiastic about eating. It is midday and he hasn't touched his food at all. Drank half a cup of water and that's it.

Doing great

Zoe is doing great. My husband and I are shocked how she actually will whine and go to the back door when she has to pee/poo.

Speaking of which.she is pooping today. It is loose which is to be expected. I found some really great sites online and settled on one that I agree with on her suggestions, etc. For puppies she recommends getting a vitamin supplement due to what they are needing with development. I already ordered this for Zoe.

Zoe is so full of pep now and is such a joy to watch at her excitement with mealtimes.

dogfaeries When I got my first Italian Greyhound, 14 and a half years ago, I handed her a chicken wing the day I brought her home. She was 8 weeks old. She loved it!

I was very uncertain when I started out, but with the help of an online friend (she is the girl that started Aunt Jeni's raw dog food company), I switched all my dogs over. I also belonged to an online discussion group called BARF. And bought several books on raw feeding (Switching to Raw by Susan K Johnson, The Ultimate Diet by Kymythy Schultze, among others). Just read, read, read! You'll figure it out. It's seriously not that difficult to do once you get started.

my boy diesel natures variety is horribly expensive
if you want to go that route just do the studying and do it yourself because you will save a ton of money

Steve Strom Yeah, I know. Those types of things are something to worry about with all pet foods. Ours too, really.

Nature's Variety is another one. Primal. There's a few choices, depending on where you are.

Gretchen I do raw the easy way too, prepared Nature's Variety. It seems to have a good balance of meat, bone and organ meat plus vegetables and supplements. My dog has done extremely well on this type of diet.

at least the nutrients would be correct
i am not a fan of blue buffalo due to poor marketing practices but there are plenty of great kibbles out there to choose from other than that
i personally like wellness and solid gold but have heard great things too about fromm and acana to name a few
both are rated highly on the dog food scale
another great brand is merrick
I am retired so I can study up on this. All I know is that she finally ate and was thrilled. I do not want to mess her up obviously, so I can do a lot of research tonight and shop in the morning. Thanks for the advice
