Thanks for all the kind words. He actually had a pretty obnoxious adolescence at times, but he's maturing into a really good -- and very sweet -- dog.
Rei, as long as a dog loves to catch he can be a Frisbee dog. Best way to teach them is to make them stay, move back from them, and then easily toss the Frisbee to them to catch. Once they get catching it down, then the hardest part is getting them to understand that they have take off running before you throw. But just make an exaggerated throwing motion to start, so that he'll take off, then lead him a little, and then over time stretch him out.
Then all you have to do is keep up your end and make good throws.
And of course, you can never ever tease with it. He has to believe you're going to throw every time, or he won't take off. He'll just bounce around at your feet.
But I can't believe Trent wouldn't get it with some practice. He just looks way too smart not to.

Ranger at 2 years old
Well, a couple months past 2.
Lounging on the back porch after a hard game of Frisbee. And he's turned into the best frisbee dog I've ever had. Some day I'll get someone to shoot some vidoes and post them here.
And while this is not a great picture, it captures his personality just about perfectly.
