scubajoe Thank you all. My wife took her, and stayed with her. It was very fast. I looked down at her last night, panting away, and she looked just like my last one that we lost about 21 months ago. That seemed kinda like a sign to me.

scubajoe I didn't think we had much longer. She couldn't get up on her own this morning. Used a towel to get her up and moving, and she could stand very carefully, barely able to hold her own weight. This morning will be her last trip to the vet.

_Zero_ I am so sorry to hear this. There is nothing harder, it seems, than having to let a good friend go. I wish you and your family the best in the next few days.

scubajoe Vet said her heart rate is up, and that it'll probably drop as she gets closer to the end, and she'll become more lethargic. Today is my daughter's birthday, and also the anniversary of my Mom's death, so wife didn't want to do anything today anyway. But Trinity is still alert. Hard to say how fast her condition will deteriorate. :-(

They said if they drain the fluid with a needle, it'll be an every couple days thing, and that it would be possible to put a tube in, but that's probably not going to be worth it at this stage. We're upping the diuretic, and she said not to bother with anything else other than the prednisone to keep her somewhat comfortable at this point.
