Mary Beth I was super cautious and did it over 3 weeks. Started with an 1/8 of a cup of the new and filled up the rest with the old to one cup. I also kept the same ratio for 3 days before increasing the amount of the new food .

Shade I do a 75% (old) to 25% (new) ratio for two days, then 50% to 50% for two days, and then 25% (old) to 75% (new) for two days. The 7th day is all new

But it depends on the dog and food, some dogs do fine cold turkey while others need 2 weeks to adjust. My dogs have always been fine with a 7 day switch

HELP-changing food

I got Rambo blue buffalo freedom LBP because that's what the breeder was feeding him. His stool is solid in the morning but as the day goes on it gets looser and by the time he goes at night it's pudding-like. So I decided to switch him over and I bought Fromm LBP. I know i need to change his food slowly. How slow? I usually give him 1/2 cup of blue buffalo. How much Fromm should I put in there? Will it take a few days? Weeks?
