Anal Glands

A co-worker has a lab that is having anal gland problems and asked for advice, unfortunately I don't have much experience with it.

She adopted him about 5 months ago and he keeps expressing his glands, she said she has had him to the vet multiple times and his glands are not full, however they keep expressing on there own, the most common time being at night when he is asleep. She said it is a horrible mess in the morning and just stinks. It does happen at other random times while both relaxing and also during exercise, but sleep is the most common time.

She was just looking for any advice or possible solutions. She said his stool is firm and she gives a bit of pumpkin with his food. He is fed kibble, I believe she said Acana.

Thanks
