Oh gosh - I can just picture this poor little guy wandering around lost.
It was a good thing you had that leash. I also keep one in my car. Actually our trainer gave one to the whole class to keep in our cars - said it might come in handy one day.
Odd when you think of the events that happened just because you were early to an appointment. I say lucky doggie. Hope he finds his owner or a new forever home

meant to be saved
This morning I was 20 minutes early at an appointment so I decided to just drive around for awhile to check out the city. On a fairly busy cross road there was an old Dachshund wandering around; 1 blind eye (bright blue), a crooked back and grey muzzle. No one stopped but me. I always have a flimsy nylon leash in the car for things like this. I tried to lure him with treats but he didn't want them. Then an older lady walked up with her older Puggle and the Dachshund immediately perked up and approached her. I was able to loop the leash around his head. I asked her if she could keep him safe for the moment or bring him to the local shelter since there was no way I could take care of him now. She said she would. We said goodbye and I saw them walking down the street as if they had always been together. I hope she'll keep him if no one shows up.That little doggie was lucky thanks to several some nice "coincidences".
