sourdough44 Most training sessions with a young dog are rather short. I'd doubt you would run out of treats, if so a break is next anyway.

pr3dict What u mean is. How much do you prepare for the day. I don't want to be in the middle of training throughout the day and run out of motivation..

lhczth I have never measured. I do both tracking and obedience (tracking I use hotdogs), but IMO it isn't a huge amount of their daily intake.

pr3dict When you did your Initial training how much did u give per day? I'm afraid I'm going to over feed.

lhczth Raw feeder. I tend to use either cheese or I make treats by drying meat, heart or gizzards.

treats vs kibble vs raw

I am in the process of purchasing some training videos and books and I notice in all the videos I see, treats are used very frequently as reinforcement. What does everyone use as a training reinforcement. I heard some people use kibble because I can't imagine that treats are good to feed in high volume while training a puppy...

Also as an added note I believe I want to start feeding raw once I get her home as I believe the breeder feeds raw as well. I heard that kibble is not a good motivator for a pet that is being fed raw. Any thoughts on this?
