don't know HOW i missed the update with the pictures. thanks so much! somehow, even over the internet, we get involved with caring about some of these dogs and people who are so special.
you and your wife are very caring people. when you are a caring person, you open yourself up to some difficult situations, kudos to you for risking your feelings to help animals in need. hopefully the satisfaction you get from helping will balance out the pain. i think sophie is incredibly beautiful and that little bear, well, he is just way too cute and quite amazing. thank you AGAIN for helping these dogs! post when you can, lots of other caring people here!

Thank you. Its making my wifeís day better. Yesterday on our way home from dinner. I saw a Chihuahua n middle of the road. I stopped right away and my wife jumped out of the car. The lady on the sidewalk said she got hit twice and the vehicles didnít stop. My wife picked her up and wrapped her in blanket, but it was her last breath. She died on my wifeís arms. Luckily my wife knew remembers which house she belongs to because she saw a 10 year old girl walking her two days ago. We drove to the house about 3 blocks away from where it happened and we saw the owner with a leash looking for his dog so he can walk her. We told them we found her on the road about one house away from us and the lady told us she got hit twice. He said his daughter accidentally left the door open. Ever since yesterday my wife been crying and didnít get any sleep

Hi Everyone! Thank you so much for keeping this thread alive and caring about my little family.
Sophie and Bear are doing great. Wish I can share a video here since I have some of Little Bear cute as can be running (hopping I should say) and being curious and investigating stuff all around. Sophie is getting better at getting along with my littles so thatís progress!!! In the day their set-up is such that the littles get the basement and the biggies get the garage separated until I come home and the door opens. As I was prepping their dinner (which has now moved from the kitchen to the basement) Sophie was curious enough to come in the basement while the littles are there and wait for her food! I hope I am right when I think of it as her being part of the pack. Also, while I sat down and played with the littles and Little Bear, Sophie actually went inside and sat down beside me (on the littles beds LOL) and I was really happy about that! For the first time, I actually feel like thereís hope that we can all be one pack playing together. I will even be more patient since I know itís possible
Bear keeps on wanting to play now but the littles are still kinda scare and unsure of him. He is very sweet and knows me already. HE would always come up to me once he sees me, I think its because of the food! Haha
Sophie has only ďtriedĒ to go after the boys when she felt Bear was threatened or when they got to near her food but I can see her being aware of me when she does that or growls at the youngest little Teddy for being too in her face. But all in all there is actually a lot of progress and Iím really happy.
Her appetite is still there, which is good. I use a blender for the kibble and water it down for both Sophie and Little Bear and mix in some wet puppy food and some wet adult food for Sophie. She eats treats now, still plays with her toys but I worry about her hind legs. I think she has arthritis or will have soon. I actually am thinking about bringing her in to the vet. I need all your advice on how to deal with this L I want her to have a good quality life for as long as possible. A few questions I have would be:
1.Do you have a recommended supplement to help her avoid this? I read somewhere that Nutramax Dasuquin tablets are really effective. Just really pricey though L
2.Also, a GSD rescue I contacted mentioned a vet that specializes in GSDís. Do you think I should take her there or to my regular vet?
3.Is there any specific test or questions I should ask the vet for her?
Any other input, suggestions, ideas and advice are really appreciated!
Love from all of us!
P.s. pls excuse the mess in the backgrounds of the pics, no matter how I tidy up, they just seem to toss the place around but it looks much neater now
