wyominggrandma You can only tell by xrays. You can't tell anything by watching her walk or looking at her move, only xrays will show what her hips are doing. And yes, you can take them at this age and see what, if anything is going on.

Danjh May I add she also sits a little funny sorta 2 legs over one side this isn't all the time but quite a lot.

Hip dysplasia worry!!

Hi everyone it has been playing on my mind for a while now about my gsd puppys hips. She is 5 months old at the moment and seems okay she's got lots of energy, dosent mind stairs or jumping in the car. But what does make me worried is that sometimes she gets up abit slow, she dosent take super long to get up just seems abit hard work is this normal? Also I have wooden flooring and she star fishes and welps because she can't get up. I have taken her to my vet he just checked how she walked and said she's fine. Any feedback will be great. Thank you.
