noahsmommy2007 How old is the puppy? We are hoping that as she gets older, he will play more with her.

petite I have a senior female mix and a GSD female pup and my older girl could care less most of the time. With an age gap that big I don't think it's uncommon. Daisy (older) does what she does every day (wake me up, patrol the living room and yard, chase squirrels) and Fawn (younger) follows her as she does this or sits to watch.

Hopefully your dogs will play a little but I don't have much hope for my girls haha

Puppy and older GSD

Have others noticed that it takes a while for their new puppy to play with their older GSD? Our older GSD is 9 and loves to play, at least he used to, lol. We have tried to keep it as respectful as possible for our older GSD, giving him space away from her, still giving attention, coveted treats, etc. He is tolerating the puppy better now but has only played with her a few times, if that.

Is this something that tends to come with time? (e.g. when she stops being so annoying to him and biting his ears, and gets a bit bigger?)
