Security Question
While balancing on a piece of wood, two inches by four inches known as a 2x4, john and his friend sally both spotted a dalmatian inside a truck with sirens, headed to put out a fire. State what the 2x4 is made of.

selzer Ohio has crappy winters, and rain the rest of the time, but we don't have alligators.

I heard alligators favorite meal is dog.

I wouldn't want to live around them.

Move to Florida and have a nice in ground pool, and find an alligator in it having the time of its life -- no thanks. Live in Ohio, and forget about the pool, because by the time you clean it and get it filled, frost sets in at night and it's too darned cold to swim outside anyway. Buy a membership at the Y and save money. No alligators there either.

While an ambush attack in the water is more common, gators can and will do a land attack, and they are pretty darn fast in a short sprint. Luckily, the closest he (she?) came was about 50 to 60 feet (yeah, WAY too close for comfort), and it stayed in the water when we left. If one does charge you, the best advice is run. Don't bother with trying to zig-zag to avoid it, just flat out RUN.

I don't think we will be going to that end of the marsh any more.

Ilka's leather collar with the studs and hearts is from CaliGirl on Etsy. The martingale style collars are Lola Limited Secret Powers collars. Lola Limited | Lola's Unique Dog Collars & Leashes LLC Leo's Lola collar is the "Egypt" pattern. Her regular collar is just a Petsmart collar.

We were having a nice, uneventful walk until this showed up.

Yes, that is an alligator. And yes, you'd better believe that we picked up the pace considerably, and practically sprinted the last half mile to the car. All the times we've been out there, this was our first encounter with one of these guys, and I fervently hope it is our last.
