I'd rather be the one the dog respects....not the one the dog gets all jacked up over.
Sure my dog greets me when I walk in the door...but it is no big fireworks display...and the reason is simply : I taught the dog from day one when she was all bonkers on greeting me when I walked in the door..to not jump on me and do the whirling dervish routine...so I have a dog which greets me in such a manner now. Never once I have felt it displays a lack of "who's her favorite" actually I feel quite the opposite....just as H&L stated.." To me it sounds like he respects you and is behaving properly with the best manners."
My girl shows her "affection" for me in ways nobody else gets to experience nearly to the degree I do....

|Harry and Lola||To me it sounds like he respects you and is behaving properly with the best manners. What ever you are doing - keep doing it so that he will mature into a confident, stable, well mannered adult German Shepherd dog. GSDs are not like GRs and Labs etc, they are aloof and in regards to your neighbour, perhaps he/she has been feeding him treats over the diving fence and getting him all excited? or sometimes dogs just really take to a person, I wouldn't let it worry you, he loves and respects you more as you are his master.|

|carrieincolorado||I admit to being jealous.. Chevelle is so so terribly attached that she cries up a storm when I leave and when I return (now that she is staying in her newly fenced yard) she jumps ALL OVER ME in a freaky panic and I end up with scratches and bites everywhere and it takes 3 or 4 minutes for her to calm down! It's stressful!!|

I think you're right, Sarah, it's all part of the bond. Finding each others place.

|vicky2200||I have had Ditto for almost 6 years and she still prefers a strangers attention to mine. She loves me. There is no doubt. There is just something about a stranger that gets her a little too excited. It can be insulting, but I try not to be offended.|

Perseus gets more happy to see my husband more then me. He will get so excited, even bark to get his attention. I think it 's cause I'm with him all day. When I do running around, I have him in his cage. Then he is happy to see me.(or to get out ) Also I think your lucky, mine was peeing when he got excited. Imo I think you have a great bound with finn and he loves you. When my kids come home from school, I'm happy to see them, but after they are home I don't get all excited if I see them coming in the same room I'm in. If that make sense.

|Sarah~||I think it's all part of bonding, getting used to each other it takes time but it's worth the wait|
