My male (now four) is pretty low-drive, and was extremely mellow as a puppy/teenager. He was happy taking a 30 minute walk or playing fetch for a while in the yard.
My six month old WL female is much, much busier and needs a lot more stimulation throughout the day. We go on hikes daily, but physical exercise doesn't really put much of a dent in her energy level, so throughout the day we play a lot of scent games, obedience games, etc.

My pup is 5 months, she gets two 30+ minute walks a day plus at least an hour of playing ball in the backyard/park as well as a 20 minute training session (working on sit/down/stay/tricks/etc) ... I'd say she's more of a "medium drive" because she's very calm inside the house and sleeps through the night but is still high energy outside. Then again I'm a first time GSD owner and I've also never had a puppy before (always adopted older dogs) so I'm definitely no expert!
Hope your pup is OK and that there's no underlying health issues!

I'm curious to hear about your puppies activity levels, mostly pups that are 5-8 months old. I have a 7 month old that doesnt play as much as I would expect, and that combined with a few other things has me working with the vet to find out if there is an underlying problem.
I'm mostly curious about how much and what kind of play your puppies get throughout the day. Also, what constitutes a 'low drive' puppy? Only as far as play goes....I understand there's different types of drives.
Thanks in advance!
