Chip18 I "tried/try" for variety. I cracked an egg and put the half shells in Rocky's food. Yeah he's not a fan! Only ate half his meal, and did not touch the shells! He will only barely eat hard boiled eggs when I give them to him on occasion.

Jax08 If the food you are feeding is balanced then there is no reason. The shells only contain calcium so you would actually be throwing the balanced meal off.

Feed them poultry feed instead. Clean their teeth! And the bones are balanced with phosphorus.

Lilie Eggs are an outside treat. I give them the entire egg. My GSD will crack it with care and eat the entire thing. My Lacy with break the egg any way he can, he has even laid on it and broke it under him. My mini doxie will thump it with her front paws around the yard until it breaks. My golden will grab the entire egg and smash it in his mouth.

blueangele haha, when I pull out the egg carton and start to get stuff ready to bake, Zeph zeros in, sits very pretty and starts drooling until I drop the shells in his bowl, the dog LOVES egg shells!

Harry and Lola I've never had great success with getting them to eat the shells, they will pick around it if I put in their food. Grinding sounds good.

GatorBytes I use a magic bullet and turn to powder. I dehydrate first so membrane shell will blend well together.

Some feed the shell right with the egg
