Here's a pic of my naughty girl on the back of the couch trying to convince Lucky she wants to be his bestest friend ever. Lucky is not quite convinced...
It took Lucky almost 2 months to accept that I wasn't taking the new kittens back to the shelter, so I expect he's got a ways to go before he finally decides Gretchen is here to stay.

Hi from Mississippi
I am a new mama to Gretchen, a beautiful 12-week-old GSD after having several GSD mixes. After losing my last 2, I told my husband I wanted the real thing because I kept falling for the GSD mixes. I have 3 kids (9, 7, and 5) and 4 cats, one of which rules the roost. It's been interesting watching the interplay between Gretchen and the alpha cat. She wants to be friendly so badly but it took him 6 weeks to accept new kittens so no telling how long to accept Gretchen. Once he accepts Gretchen the other cats will fall into line behind him. It's how things work around here.
DH says that the clock is ticking on Lucky being the alpha because Gretchen's mom, dad, and grandma were all over 100 lbs. I hope Lucky is smart enough to negotiate a favorable treaty before she gets too big.
